Luminous Intervention Shines Light on Corporate Tax Evaders

Baltimore - Artist-activist video projection group, Luminous Intervention, took part in country-wide actions to draw attention to the issue of corporate tax evasion in the week leading up to Tax Day. Overpass light brigades and other guerilla projection groups across the US projected the game "Tax Evaders", a riff off of the classic video game "Space Invaders". The game was used to draw attention to corporations like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chevron, Exxon, Apple, Facebook  and others, whose corporate status has allowed them the ability to evade taxes, while the rest of the population makes up the difference. The Baltimore group projected their interactive game on the side of a Bank of America building. Passersby stopped to find out more and participate. The game was ultimately shut down by police when Bank of America called in a complaint.
