Greening the Government:  How Agencies are Driving Energy, Climate, and Environmental Performance Improvement

While little legislative action has been in areas such as environmental protection, energy efficiency, and GHG emissions reductions a green revolution is quietly taking place in the Executive Branch. Through a combination of Stimulus funding, Executive Order mandates, and innovative financing and engagement strategies, agencies across the federal government are driving environmental performance improvement. These agencies are also committing to ambitious renewable energy and greenhouse gas reduction goals.

At “Greening the Government”, panelists from the General Services Administration, the National Park Service, the Department of Energy, and the Peace Corps will discuss what their agencies are doing to “green” their internal activities and help communities across the country (and around the world) become more sustainable as well.
