The Baltimore Free School is a grassroots, volunteer-run and community-funded project, based at 1323 N. Calvert. St. Building upon a long tradition of horizontal organizing, collaborative learning and participatory education, we believe that the empowerment of people of all ages and backgrounds to share and learn is vital to the health of any community.

Thomas Nephew is a founding member of the Montgomery County Civil Rights Coalition, mococivilrights.wordpress.com. He's been a resident of Takoma Park, MD since 2000, where he's been active on issues ranging from license plate scanners and Metro bag searches to impeachment and the NDAA.  He has a public policy master's degree from the University of Michigan; he is married and the proud father of one daughter, Maddie.

Tim Gee is an author, activist and blogger from London, UK. His book Counterpower: Making Change Happen is available at Red Emma’s Bookstore Coffeehouse, Baltimore.
