It’s early afternoon on July 28th when fifty activists trespass onto the largest mountaintop removal site in Appalachia. The mine is called Hobet and it’s located in Lincoln County, West Virginia. It is comparable to Manhattan Island in scale and is one of the only unionized strip mining jobs in southern West Virginia.
