On Saturday afternoon, March 17, 2012, Marvin "Doc" Cheatham spoke at a "Health Symposium," at the Druid Hill Baptist Church in West Baltimore. The event was sponsored by the NAACP's Baltimore City Branch. He is the Past President of the Baltimore Branch of the NAACP. Currently, "Doc" Cheatham is the Baltimore President of the National Action Network (NAN).

Social justice activists staged a mock birthday celebration for Wells Fargo, on Friday afternoon, March 16, 2012, in down town Baltimore, Maryland. The bank is 160 years old. Activists claim that Wells Fargo, which took in $17.9 billions in taxpayers' bailout funds, was one of the "worst actors in the foreclosure crisis." Good Jobs Better Baltimore, and others, participated in the spirited demonstration.

Lila Kara's home at 1433 W. Lombard Street is the subject of a foreclosure proceeding. On Saturday, Jan. 8, 2012, a rally was held in front of her home. Her case is pending in the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. Nevertheless, the bank is pushing to have the Sheriff of Baltimore City evict her this Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at or around 10 AM.

An interfaith service was held on Wednesday evening, "We Remember the Homeless," December 21, 2011, at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater, in Baltimore, Maryland. The event memorialized the 111 homeless people who have died in 2011 in Baltimore City. (This video has a ten second delay in front.) Speaking on camera are: Adam Schneider, James Crawford Jr., Rev. Brian E. Murray, Rabbi Martin Siegel and Rev. Andrew Foster Connors.

On Wed. morning, Dec. 14, 2011, a press conference was called by concerned members of the African American Clergy. It was held in Washington, DC at the National Press Club. On Sunday morning, October 30, 2011, a rally and march was held in Baltimore City. It was led by the United Workers. The activists, many of whom had participated in the "Fair Development Conference," paraded, some in costumes, from Charles & Lombard Streets over to the "Occupy Baltimore" site at McKeldin Square. The theme of economic justice, with a "haunted harbor" echo that featured the "Poverty Busters," was spotlighted by the demonstrators.

On Thursday, October 20, 2011, UNITE HERE's Local 7, which represents hotel and hospitality workers, staged a demonstration/picket line in front of the Baltimore Convention Center at Charles & Pratt Streets. It was in support of the Centerplate workers and their efforts to "restore their slashed wages and their health insurance." The Convention Center is a block west of the "Occupy Baltimore" site.

Indyreader correspondent, Bill Hughes, reports with a series of videos on both: October 2011 and #occupydc.
